Pitbull Training

The most troublesome and boring aspect of owning a pet pit bull according to most owners is training. Though boring, early obedience training for pit bulls is very essential, otherwise they may become disobedient and even aggressive. A poorly bred pit bull is often a danger to the people around it. Also, it is necessary to teach housebreaking to a pit bull when it is still a puppy.

The first thing that a pit bull needs to be trained in is housebreaking. Pit bull puppies have weak bladders, which they may need to eliminate almost every hour. Have specific meal times for the puppy and then take it out. Over time, puppies will begin to recognize this place by its smell. It's no fun to be woken in the middle of a night by a puppy whining to go potty, but it takes endurance in the first few months. As pit bulls grow older, their bladder control improves, but it will be a while before they can hold their bladders overnight. Another method is paper training, where newspaper can be spread at spots within the house. However, paper training is not good as it gives the pit bull the idea that it is okay to poop inside the house.

Pitbulls are athletic dogs and so they need stamina and strength training. The most common way to teach almost all dogs is by drive and tracking. A ball and string can be used for this. Show the ball to the pit bull until its curiosity is aroused and then roll the ball on the floor, away from the pit bull. The pit bull will begin chasing after it. Using this tactic, several tricks can be taught to the pit bull.

Pit bulls are intelligent dogs. They respond to commands. Pit bulls can be trained to understand commands such as 'go', 'fetch', 'heel' and they also recall to their names. Repeating the commands over and over helps the dog to learn faster. Such obedience training must not be taken lightly as it may sometimes be a lifesaver to the dog.

Training a dog requires patience and affection on the part of the trainer. Pit bulls are sensitive and they should never be hit or yelled at when training. This may have an adverse effect and they may not respond to training at all. They may also fight back and nip or bite people. A slight reprimand, with a strong 'No' is enough to make a pit bull stop any undesirable activity. It is important to be consistent in pit bull training. If you train a pit bull for a couple of days and then decide to take a break, then the whole thing is going to be a worthless affair.

However, there are many ways in which pit bull training can be made exciting to both dog and owner. The training also provides some exercise to the owner and goes a long way in making the dog a trustworthy and able companion.

Pitbulls in general are NOT agressive dogs. By nature, they are like labrador retrievers, high strung and intelligent. They can be trained easily because of there loyalty to people. Pitbulls should not be singled out as bitters. I have never come across a pitbull who would bite as because scared, if anything they hide and cower. ANY dog can bite you if frightened enough. Pitbulls are extemely misunderstood. They ARE great dogs for children and get along with other dogs if socialized properly.

u must know what gogs were inbread to make the pit bull terrior! 12th centry. the Molossus, the early Mastive, and benenbeiser bull bitter. to make the pit bull terrior.

U must really love your dog and very affectionate and feed your dog well! u'vw oviously never been to the geto where black people neglect there animals for a reason! and yes ive saved many pit bullos out of sacramento that were betten and neglected.

just like person, they need to be feed and loved. not put on a runner or a chain! cause they need people interaction or else do your research. u r fortunate.

i disagree with your statment! pit bulls do bite if they need to protect there teritory! and u are its territory! your dog would bite to protect u and your family! for example. im a trainner! have a friend dreess up as a robber while your wathing a move w your family! then habe him iraticaly come threw the dore with a mask on! see what happens! i garentte u will be shocked! and yes they will kill. just so happens they ate the sweetest dogs in the world! but dont ignore the statisics!

I have 2 pit girls Lady (Kolby.Eli bloodliines) and Bella (Kolby. Chinamen bloodlines). They are my sweet sweet babies. Lady is 9mos and Bella is 4mos. Lady used to be dog aggressive and I took a chance with getting Bella but it has worked. Lady not only adores Bella, but gets along with all other dogs now.

i have a stafy female named angel eye! she just turned six! and she is a wounderfull dog! i raised her as a person not a dog! she is very sweet and loves kids thrives for kids attention. she is very obideant by even hand signals. she is very atthletic and loves the river out doors.

i never new she was territorial till she got into heat and wouderd off! well we were leaving the pound and this volunter at the shelter saw that i have piut bulls and he wanted me to check out this other female there. well lease to say i never seen my dog want to eat another dog before and icould barely containe her. till that day i was cluless! but dont dought there abilitys.

in the 12th century they combined three dogs to make this breed. The Molossus, early Mastif, and the benenbeise bull bitter. To hurd bull and hunt boare wild animals. there ability to use there jaws as a vise ty clamp down on there nose and hold them till the hunter got the advantage or to slotter! they are great hunters and have agreat nose. there senses are strongerr then humans they can sense your emotion if your mad sad. pit bulls are very stong so they need lotts of exercise running! so they dont go sower cauase they need attention too. they are not domestic dogs! my door is open always to this breed. they are a dying breed due to dam other races that use them for the wrong reason. is those peoples statistics that give them a bad name. i think this training maual is 100% correct! owsom! cause angel had kidds that are blue nose andshe only had 4 and they were twinns too black females and too beige(tan) w blue eyed males. one male was premee he didnt make it. god bless Rosco! Anyways i forgot how hard it is to train a male.

he has his own kennel and is how i potty trained him Zorro is 4 months. he's a menece. His teething is out of control. hes chewing on everything! i feel bad for him. tenis balls are the best too teeth on. raw hide he thinks is food and makes them sick. if they eat allot of it. and ploease don't bye Dollar Store toys for any of your animals. my friends pit bull chewed up a squiky toy and rushed him to the hospital to do emergince surgery on his stomach and still passed away? doc says any toy has a certain reugulatiions! products from japan, especially china, cause we do so much trade w them. that are made cheep and dont require much! for sale here in the united states. remindes me of the cabadge patch doll in the 80s. lead materials in products. same with your children. dont bye them dollar store toys. thank sinceraly scott castro face book

We own a male pit bull, he is nearly 2 yrs old, because he has been raised with my small children, he thinks he's a child, he puts his toys in my daughters toybox when he's finished playing with them. We have spent alot of time and effort to train him to be docile and gentle to others. He is such a valued member of our family, he does need constant attention and gets very emotional during puberty, he is not a dog who could be left for long periods. I truely believe any dog's temperament is down to their owners but we are fully aware of his capabilities especially when out in public around other dogs.
